Charges Withdrawn
R. v. D.G.
Client was charged with possession of marijuana and breach of an undertaking. Police observed the client with two friends, then detained, investigated, and searched him, allegedly finding 3.7 grams of marijuana. We prepared a Charter application arguing the client was arbitrarily detained and illegally searched. Before the trial began, the Crown agreed to withdraw all charges.
Acquittal
R. v. E.W.
Client was charged with possession of crack cocaine and breach of a recognizance. Police alleged they observed the client remove a plastic bag containing crack cocaine from his jacket pocket and throw it to the ground. At trial, we brought a Charter application arguing the client was arbitrarily detained and illegally searched, resulting in a breach of his rights.

Client faced multiple charges including possession of heroin, two counts of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana. Police obtained a search warrant after receiving information about drug sales at a Toronto apartment. Officers found large quantities of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana along with drug trafficking paraphernalia. The client was arrested outside the apartment where her identification and clothing were found inside. We successfully negotiated the withdrawal of all charges before trial.

Client was charged with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The Crown alleged the client engaged in a hand-to-hand drug transaction with an undercover Toronto police officer. We successfully negotiated the withdrawal of all charges before trial.

Client, a young person, was found with approximately two ounces of marijuana which he admitted was for sale. He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. We negotiated a resolution where the charge was withdrawn after the client completed drug counselling.

Client was stopped while driving in the entertainment district. Police alleged they smelled freshly burned cannabis from the vehicle. A search revealed approximately two ounces of marijuana packaged in two-gram bags, a ceremonial sword in a knapsack, and approximately $6,000 in Canadian and American currency. We negotiated a resolution where all charges were withdrawn after the client completed 50 hours of community service.
