Drug Offenses Recent Case Summaries

Client was charged with possession of crack cocaine and breach of a recognizance. Police alleged they observed the client remove a plastic bag containing crack cocaine from his jacket pocket and throw it to the ground. At trial, we brought a Charter application arguing the client was arbitrarily detained and illegally searched, resulting in a breach of his rights.

Client faced multiple charges including possession of heroin, two counts of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana. Police obtained a search warrant after receiving information about drug sales at a Toronto apartment. A search revealed approximately two ounces of marijuana packaged in two-gram bags, a ceremonial sword in a knapsack, and approximately $6,000 in Canadian and American currency. We negotiated a resolution where all charges were withdrawn after the client completed 50 hours of community service.
