R. v. B.P.

Outcome: Charge withdrawn, no criminal record, matter resolved through diversion.

Charges Withdrawn

Theft Under $5,000, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, Possession of Stolen Property

R. v. T.L.

Client was charged with theft under $5,000, assault with intent to resist arrest, and possession of property obtained by crime. The Crown alleged the client and two friends attended a Real Canadian Superstore in Toronto, concealed items on their persons, and attempted to leave without paying. When store security confronted them outside, a struggle ensued and a security officer was repeatedly assaulted. We successfully negotiated the withdrawal of all charges before trial.

Outcome: All charges withdrawn, no admission of guilt, no criminal record.

Theft Under $5,000

R. v. K.T.

Client was charged with theft under $5,000 for stealing groceries from his workplace. The client turned himself in and was released on an undertaking. The charge involved serious allegations of breach of trust and dishonesty against an employer. We negotiated a resolution where all charges were withdrawn after the client completed counselling and community service.

Outcome: Charge withdrawn, no criminal record.

Charges Withdrawn

Forcible Entry, Mischief, Breach of Probation

R. v. A.C.

Client, who had twenty-four previous convictions, was charged with forcible entry, mischief, and two counts of breaching probation. The Crown alleged the client and a co-accused forced their way into an apartment by smashing through windows and assaulted an occupant with a weapon causing bodily harm. On the morning of trial, we successfully secured the withdrawal of all charges.

Outcome: All charges withdrawn, client released from custody unconditionally.

Charges Withdrawn

Break and Enter, Mischief, Assault

R. v. A.W.

Client was charged with two counts of break and enter, mischief under $5,000, and assault. The complainant, the client’s former partner of four years, alleged the client repeatedly called and texted her, attended her residence throwing rocks at her window, broke in by forcing the door open, and dragged her from her bedroom to the living room. It was essential the client avoid a criminal record as he was pursuing a career in law. We used the complainant’s reluctance to proceed to demonstrate the weakness of the Crown’s case, resulting in all charges being withdrawn upon signing a section 810 peace bond.

Outcome: All charges withdrawn, no criminal record, law career protected, matter resolved with peace bond.

Charges Withdrawn

Assault with a Weapon, Domestic Assault, Mischief

R. v. B.A.

Client was charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of domestic assault, and mischief under $5,000. The complainant, the client’s wife of ten years, alleged the client made a gesture to strike her with a coffee cup during an argument, pulled her hair, punched her in the arm and leg, and smashed her phone. The complainant also reported ongoing concerns to police. The client had no prior police history. We successfully secured approval for diversion, and upon completing the Partner Assault Response program and signing a section 810 peace bond, all charges were withdrawn.

Outcome: All charges withdrawn, no criminal record, matter resolved through diversion.
